Frequently Asked Questions
Where does this data come from?
Results come from the public RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) network via rdap.org, which routes the query to the correct domain registry. It is the modern, structured successor to legacy WHOIS.
Why does it say “no data available” for some domains?
RDAP availability varies by TLD/registry — not every registry publishes full RDAP records, and some domains use privacy/proxy registration that hides certain fields.
Is this the same as a WHOIS lookup?
RDAP serves a similar purpose to WHOIS (domain registration data) but returns structured JSON over HTTPS instead of unstructured text, and is the format modern registries are moving to.
Does this tool store my searches?
No — each lookup is a live request made directly from your browser to the RDAP network; nothing is logged or stored by this tool.
